Cabramatta syndicate wins $25 million in Powerball!

Friday 13 June, 2014 - Friday the 13th has turned into a lucky day for members of a Cabramatta store syndicate after their Powerball entry scooped the entire $25 million jackpot in last night’s Powerball draw!

The 25-share syndicate with entries purchased from two NSW Lotteries outlets in Cabramatta not only won division one in Powerball with its PowerHit System 9 entry, but also other divisional prizes making the total prize of $25,552,556.10, or $1,022,102.24 per share!

Anne Huang is the owner of Mitchum News and Mitchum Newsagency where the multi-million dollar winning Powerball syndicate shares were sold.

“It’s so exciting! There’s already a buzz around Cabramatta today!” Ms Huang exclaimed.

“This is a suburb of battlers so it’s wonderful to know so many people have won. I do hope that some of the syndicate winners are my regulars!

“Can you imagine waking up this morning and finding out you’re a new millionaire? I think the number 13 will now be a lucky number for them!”

NSW Lotteries says that syndicates are a popular choice for players as they can split the cost of a larger entry with other players, which gives them more chances to win!

The winning Powerball PowerHit System 9 marked syndicate entries were purchased at Mitchum News, Shop 12 in Cabramatta Arcade, 105 – 107 John Street in Cabramatta and Mitchum Newsagency, Shop 2, 81 – 83 John Street in Cabramatta.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 943 on Thursday 12 June 2014 were 29, 6, 32, 19, 39 and 24 and the Powerball was number 7. Powerball will offer a $3 million division one prize in next Thursday’s draw.
