West Coast welcome the Roos to Patersons Stadium on Sunday to wrap up Round 11 in the AFL.
Looking to work their way back into finals contention, the Eagles will leap frog the Roos into eighth spot on the ladder with a win on Sunday. The Eagles were gallant in defeat last week when they went down to Collingwood by 8 points at the MCG. The West Coast forward line will be boosted this weekend with full forward Mark LeCras returning from a one-week suspension, meaning Josh Hill will be shuffled to the bench. Elliot Yeo may have lost his two front teeth in last Saturday’s loss to the Pies, but the half-back hasn’t lost his spot in the starting line-up. The youngster will take the field on Sunday for the Eagles, and he surely won’t forget his mouthguard.
The Kangaroos travel to Patersons Stadium without defender Joel Tippet, who is expected to face a lengthy stint on the sidelines with a pectoral injury. The Roos backline is in disarray, and with Nathan Grima still unable to shake off a foot injury, North may struggle to deal with the tall pack of Eagles' forwards. Aaron Mullet has recovered from his hamstring injury to be named on the Roos bench, after missing out on the last two rounds of action. Ben Jacobs had a blinder for North Ballarat in the VFL, recording a massive 42 disposals on the weekend. That performance has earned him a recall into the 25 man squad to travel to Perth.
The Eagles are favourites in the betting ring and their forward line may prove to be too much to handle for the Roos. Mark LeCras is a big return for them this week, and the Roos' backline which keeps chopping and changing, will find it hard to keep out the hosts. The homeside should win this one comfortably in front of the local fans and potentially sneak into the top eight, depending on other results.
