Monday 5 May, 2014 - A NSW Lotteries player is starting the week more than $450,000 richer after a ticket they purchased in Springwood won them a share in the division one prize pool in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw!
The winner, who wishes to remain completely anonymous, has come forward and claimed their first division prize.
The winning entry was purchased from Springwood Newsagency and owner Chris Johnson was thrilled to discover his outlet had sold a division one winning ticket.
“We’re very pleased and happy for our customer!” Mr Johnson said.
It’s not the first time the newsagency has sold a division one winning ticket. In March 2012, a Lotto Strike entry purchased from Springwood Newsagency won a first division prize worth $1.4 million.
“It’s been a little while so we thought we were due for another first division win and now it’s happened!”
The winning Saturday Lotto entry was purchased from Springwood Newsagency at 190 Macquarie Street in Springwood.
Throughout Australia, there were nine entries that won a first division share of Saturday Lotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool, each worth $450,863.45. Along with the winning entry from New South Wales, there were four winning tickets purchased in Victoria, and once each in Queensland, South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3421 on 3 May 2014 were 14, 41, 1, 12, 19 and 37 with the supplementary numbers of 23 and 7.
What’s better than winning once? How about winning twice! For one draw only, Wednesday Lotto players have the chance to double their prize money in all divisions, including division one, in the ‘Double Win Wednesday’ draw 3345 on Wednesday 7 May.
