Monday 26 May, 2014 - A Sunshine Coast man is walking on sunshine today after winning a division one share worth $677,974.83 in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw!
The winner, in his 50s, said he was waiting for Golden Casket’s phone call this morning after he checked his Saturday Gold Lotto entry on the internet yesterday.
“This is amazing! I dreamt that I won Gold Lotto about two weeks ago so it felt very surreal when I realised I’d won division one on Sunday morning!” the excited winner exclaimed.
“I had to celebrate winning Gold Lotto so I went out for breakfast to treat myself!”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said that he already knows what he’ll do with his Saturday Gold Lotto windfall.
“I’ll pay off my mortgage first and then I’ll plan to retire down the track!”
The winning 18-game QuickPick was purchased at Wurtulla Newsagency, Shop 2 in Wurtulla Shopping Village, 614 Nicklin Way in Wurtulla.
Wurtulla Newsagency owner Gavin Yarrow was overjoyed when he discovered that his store had sold a division one winning entry in the weekend’s draw.
“It’s so exciting! We were doing the jig in our Newsagency all day yesterday!” Mr Yarrow said.
“I’m now hoping that lightning will strike twice and we sell a first division winning entry in tomorrow’s $30 million Oz Lotto draw!”
Throughout Australia, there were six entries that won a first division share of the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw, each worth $677,974.83. Along with the winning entry purchased in Queensland, two were sold in South Australia, and one each in Victoria, Northern Territory and Western Australia.
