It would take a miracle for the Reds  to even come close to making the finals. It is mathematically possible, but highly improbable, so it's pretty safe to say the Queenslanders are out of contention. The Crusaders  are sitting in sixth at the moment, but a loss to the Reds could see them drop down as far as tenth.

The Reds were just shocking in Auckland last week. Quade Cooper had no direction. He passed the ball to no one on most occasions and let attacks pierce the line constantly. Will Genia was the only shining light in what was one of the Reds' worst performances of the year, going down to the Blues 40-20. The news just keeps getting worse with Liam Gill (hamstring), Chris Feauai-Sautia (shoulder) and Eddie Quirk (ribs) all ruled out for several weeks. Prop James Slipper is also out for three matches after he was suspended for a lifting tackle.

How much of a difference does Richie McCaw make? The return of the veteran All Black last week inspired the Crusaders to an outstanding victory over the Brumbies in Christchurch. Crusaders skipper Kieran Read remains sidelined due to a concussion sustained against the Chiefs three weeks ago. Utility back Tom Taylor has also been ruled out with head-knock. Corey Flynn starts at hooker, with Ben Funnell taking a spot on the bench. Lock Luke Romano comes off the bench to start at No.4, alongside Sam Whitelock. McCaw returns to openside flanker, with Matt Todd forced out with a calf strain. Jordan Taufua shifts to blindside flanker, with George Whitelock onto the bench.

It will be all class from the Crusaders on Sunday, and they will be way too strong for the Reds. I hope I'm wrong, but I can see this being a whitewash.
