Value results continue in the NRL, with only 40% of favourites winning.
After five completed rounds, just 16 of 40 or 40% of NRL favourites have won, meaning those looking for value have been the big winners. In the same period last year, 66 per cent of favourites were successful.
In Round 5, the only punters' elects to win were the Penrith, Souths and the Cowboys, meaning five outsiders took the spoils. Among the well-backed 'shorties' to go down were the Roosters (again), the Broncos (to Parra!) and Storm, who were at the prohibitive odds of $1.25.
If you're a thrifty shopper and put the five outsiders (Bulldogs, Parramatta, Cronulla, Titans and Tigers) in a multi, it would've returned you around $220 for each $1 invested.
One TattsBet punter did even better than that. He 'multied-up' all eight winners turning $2 into $1,653.
It all starts again on Friday!
