Wednesday 9 April, 2014 - A woman from the Hunter region is celebrating becoming one of the state’s newest millionaires after winning division one in Monday Lotto.
The woman, in her 60s, was one of four winners who each collected a $1 million first division prize in Monday night’s draw.
“Oh my god! My stomach is jumping at the moment,” the stunned winner said.
“I only checked my ticket on the internet this morning but I didn’t want to get too excited until I spoke with NSW Lotteries!”
The winner, who has asked to remain anonymous, said it was too early to say what she’ll do with her million dollar prize!
“I’ve thought about winning Lotto for years, but right now I can’t say what I’ll do with the money. I do want to help my children.”
The winning 8-game marked entry was purchased at News 2 U, Shop 2084 in Westfield Shoppingtown in Kotara.
There were four entries from New South Wales that won a first division prize in Monday Lotto which offers a guaranteed $1 million division one prize for up to four winners in every draw. The other winning entries were purchased in Cessnock, Winston Hills and Forster.
