Grandfather to support cancer research with Lotto prize

Thursday 3 April, 2014 - A Springvale grandfather today claimed his $1 million prize from this week’s Monday Lotto draw but said the prize will be shared with others as all he needs is “good health”.

“You have no idea what this means to me,” the winner said to a Tatts official.

“This prize money is not for myself; I’m in treatment for cancer and all I need is a bit of good health.

“But my son is just starting his life, with a mortgage and a young family so I’m going to use the prize money to help him.

“And I’m going to make a significant contribution to a Melbourne hospital to support their cancer research. Cancer touches everyone’s life at some point.”

The man purchased his winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto 18-game marked entry from Springvale Authorised Newsagency & Lotto, 321 Springvale Road in Springvale.

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3334 on Monday 31 March, 2014 were 18 , 12, 29, 40, 33 and 8 with the supplementary numbers of 39 and 30.
