A NSW Lotteries official had a tough time convincing a man from Sydney’s South-western suburbs that he is now a millionaire after winning a first division share in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto $21 Million Superdraw!
The winner in his 30s was completely unaware he’d won more than $1.9 million until NSW Lotteries spoke with him late yesterday afternoon.
“This isn’t an April Fool’s joke is it?” the disbelieving winner asked.
“Are you sure? That’s amazing! Money has been tight recently and I’ve been grabbing all the overtime I could at work!”
When asked what he might do with his Superdraw windfall, the new millionaire declared, “I’d like to buy a house!”
“My wife and I have also been wanting to start a family and this Saturday Lotto win means we can do that!”
The winning 50-game Saturday Lotto ticket in the weekend’s $21 Million Superdraw entry was purchased online from Tatts.com.
Throughout Australia, there were 11 entries that won a first division share of the weekend’s Saturday Lotto $21 Million Superdraw, each worth $1,909,090.91. There were two winning entries from New South Wales, three each in Queensland and South Australia, two were from Victoria, and one winning ticket was sold in Western Australia.
NSW Lotteries is still looking for the other New South Wales winner who purchased their unregistered entry from World Newsagency Metcentre, Shop G11 in the Metcentre, 273 George Street in Sydney. NSW Lotteries is encouraging all unregistered Saturday Lotto customers who purchased a Superdraw ticket in Sydney to check their entry today!
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3411 on 29 March 2014 were 22, 26, 21, 29, 10 and 41 with the supplementary numbers of 25 and 27.
There’s still a chance to win big this week with $25 million up for grabs in Thursday’s Powerball jackpot draw. Tickets are now on sale from all NSW Lotteries outlets and online from Tatts.com.
