Adelaide v GWS
Adelaide Oval
Sunday, April 20, 1:10pm (AEST)

Form:
Crows: LLLW
GWS: WLWL

Why watch?
Adelaide have made a habit of beating up on the Giants in the past, but this will be a lot closer than their recent battles. GWS are a much-improved side this year and are definitely no easy-beats. The picturesque Adelaide Oval always makes for good viewing and there are a couple of big forwards that will also rise interest. Tom Lynch will play his first match of the season, while number one draft pick Tom Boyd is making his debut for the Giants.

Match notes
- Scott Thompson will play his 250th AFL match
- GWS have never scored more than 60 points against Adelaide
- Shane Mumford is expected to miss a month following minor knee surgery
- Heath Shaw to miss with a hamstring injury
- Giants are the number one ranked team for clearances
- Jeremy Cameron kicked his 100th career goal last week
- Tom Boyd will make his AFL debut
- Devon Smith returns from a one-week suspension

Say what?
"There were a few smiles and laughs this morning. It's always a happier place when you've had a win. I'm not too sure how much you can gather (from the win), it's only one win. The boys just become a bit more confident," Crow Matt Jaensch said on Monday.

Fantasy factoid
Tom Lynch had a day out the last two sides met with a career-high 10 goals. He will struggle to match that, but will be out to make a point in his first game of the season.

Cold hard fact
Adelaide's average winning margin over GWS is exactly 100.

Final Word
Adelaide are a much better side than their 1-3 start to the season suggests. They were given a tough draw with matches against Geelong, Port Adelaide and Sydney, but Brendon Sanderson kept the faith with this side and they rewarded him with a belting of St Kilda. GWS have made great improvements this year, but we think the Crows will take the four points in this one.
