Monday 31 March, 2014 - Thirteen Queenslanders are celebrating winning a division one share in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto $21 Million Superdraw!
Three winning entries worth $1.9 million each were purchased in Queensland, with one belonging to an 11-member outlet syndicate in Ayr, and the other two going to individual winning tickets sold in Buddina and Keperra.
11-member Ayr syndicate shares $1.9 million prize!
Some say they’re unlucky, but one black cat has paid dividends for 11 Golden Casket players after the outlet syndicate entries they purchased from Ayr newsagency, Lucky Black Cat News, won a first division share in the weekend’s $21 Million Superdraw! In addition to the first division win, the syndicate also won other divisional prizes, making the total prize $1,922,445.21 or $174,767.75 per share.
Michael and Amanda Escriva are the owners of Lucky Black Cat News who were over the moon when they discovered their store syndicate won big in the Superdraw on the weekend.
“We’d already arranged a work party on Sunday afternoon so after we found out our outlet syndicate had won first division, it turned into a celebration party,” Mr Escriva said.
“A staff member actually named that winning syndicate ‘Wouldn’t it be nice’ so in the end it was perfectly suited!”
One of the syndicate shares was purchased by a local man who is overjoyed with his share of his division one windfall.
“I plan to use my share of the prize to pay off my bills and then I’ll just enjoy the rest of the money!” the excited syndicate winner said.
The division one winning System 8 syndicate entry was from Lucky Black Cat News, 153 Queen Street in Ayr.
‘Unbelievable’ division one win for Sunshine Coast man!
A retired Sunshine Coast man said he initially had trouble believing he’d won a share first division in Saturday’s $21 Million Superdraw!
“I checked the winning numbers on my Saturday Gold Lotto ticket again, again and again. After I finally let myself believe I’d won a share in division one, I yelled and screamed!” the excited winner exclaimed.
“I’ve been trying to win Gold Lotto for years although my wife said I won her a long time ago,” he jokingly added.
“I want to share my Gold Lotto prize with my family and then it will be nice just to have the rest of the money sitting in the bank.”
The winning Saturday Gold Lotto 36-game QuickPick entry was purchased from Buddina News, Shop 424 in Kawana Shoppingworld in Buddina.
Prize won in Keperra
It was a case of three times a charm for a Keperra newsagency after it sold its third division one winning ticket in less than four months!
Supanews Keperra sold one of the state’s division one winning entries in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto $21 Million Superdraw.
The winning entry was registered to a Winners Circle Card and Golden Casket is attempting to contact the winner with official news of their win.
The division one winning entry was purchased at Supanews Keperra, Shop 5a in Great Western Super Centre, 1028 Samford Road in Keperra.
Last November, Supanews Keperra sold a $54,000 division one winning ticket in The Pools, and nine weeks later sold a first division winning Saturday Gold Lotto entry worth $684,000!
Throughout Australia, there were 11 entries that won a first division share of the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto $21 Million Superdraw, each worth $1,909,090.91. Along with three winning entries purchased in Queensland, three were purchased in South Australia, two each in New South Wales and Victoria, and one in Western Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3411 on 29 March 2014 were 22, 26, 21, 29, 10 and 41 with the supplementary numbers of 25 and 27.
