ST KILDA v GWS

Etihad Stadium

Saturday March 29, 12:40pm AEST

Why watch?
The Giants are favourites for a match for the first time in their history and it will be interesting to see how they back up after their stunning Round 1 triumph over Sydney. Was it a fluke or are they a legitimate team? These are the types of matches they have to win if they simply must win if they are to be taken seriously. The Saints are coming off a win – against Melbourne – but are still expected to struggle this year. They win this and suddenly they are two-zip to start the season.

Match notes
- The Saints will welcome back veteran midfielders Leigh Montagna and Lenny Hayes
- Young midfielder Luke Dunstan picked up the Round 1 Rising Star nomination
- Josh Bruce is a chance to debut for the homes side against his former club
- Josh Hunt will play his 200th AFL match (198 with Geelong)
- GWS could unleash a three-pronged forward attack with boom youngster Tom Boyd a chance to play alongside Jon Patton and Jeremy Cameron
- Phil Davis' future remains unclear as he is still in hospital due to kidney damage, although he has been released from intensive care

Fantasy factoid
Leigh Montagna will be fresh and raring to go after missing last week's season-opener through suspension. He averages 29 touches and 1.5 goals against the Giants.

Cold hard fact
St Kilda have beaten GWS twice by a total of 200 points.

Final Word
This is a real tough one to tip, but we expect the Giants' flying start to the season to continue with another victory.
