Gippsland pensioner wins $1 million in TattsLotto!

Monday 10 March, 2014 - A pensioner became Gippsland’s newest millionaire on the weekend when his TattsLotto ticket won a first division prize of $1,013,557.14!

“I’m bloody happy to hear from you, darlin’!” he exclaimed when a Tatts official phoned him with the good news.

“It’s unreal, love!”

The man said he had been playing TattsLotto as long as he could remember and was thrilled with the news his numbers came up in the weekend’s draw.

“When you’ve worked hard your whole life and struggled from time-to-time, it’s hard to believe that this could happen,” the winner said.

“I had about a dozen cups of tea to celebrate after checking those numbers!

“I haven’t decided how to spend the money yet but I have always dreamed of owning a bit of land and I love animals so I might be able to buy myself a hobby farm.”

The man purchased his winning TattsLotto System 7 marked entry from Lucky Lotto Wonthaggi, Kiosk 4, Wonthaggi Plaza, 2 Biggs Drive in Wonthaggi. His System 7 entry type allowed him to win the first division prize along with other divisional prizes for a total of $1,019,643.84.

Throughout Australia, there were four entries that won a first division share of TattsLotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on 8 March 2014, each worth $1,013,557.14. Along with the winning entry from Victoria, there was one each in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3405 on 8 March 2014 were 40, 3, 38, 27, 19 and 42 with the supplementary numbers of 17 and 12.
