Former Cat, Paul Chapman, will make his debut for Essendon at Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night in a squad which contains a host of top-line Bombers. The Dons have also included captain Jobe Watson, star utility Brendon Goddard and veteran defender Dustin Fletcher, who are yet to lace-up the boots in the NAB Challenge. Fletcher is building towards his 22nd season of AFL footy. Free from injury, Jason Winderlich is looking to have a big year for the Bombers, adding to the 112 games he’s played since his debut more than a decade ago.

Port Adelaide has named skipper Travis Boak in its squad after the star midfielder was a late withdrawal from the local derby against Adelaide. Lead ruckman Matthew Lobbe will also have his first pre-season hit-out, alongside key youngsters Hamish Hartlett and Chad Wingard, along with key forwards Jay Schulz and Justin Westhoff.

Power will be much more competitive after starting the NAB Challenge with an under-strength line-up when thrashed 119-59 by its Adelaide rival, the Crows. The Bombers lost a cliff-hanger to the Gold Coast Suns when

Gary Ablett kicked a point on the siren to seal victory.
