Monday 24 February, 2014 - A woman from Brisbane’s southside is now planning an icy getaway to Antarctica after winning a share in division one in Saturday Gold Lotto!
The winner was completely flabbergasted when Golden Casket informed her she’d won division one and other divisional prizes totalling $706,799.55 in the weekend’s draw.
“I’m starting to hyperventilate! I can’t comprehend that amount of money!” the winner exclaimed.
“Five minutes ago, I would have been happy with just my division four prize of $146.50! This is incredible.
“I actually picked my own numbers by going on to Golden Casket’s website and highlighting the most frequently drawn numbers and then I used those!”
The excited winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said knows exactly what she’ll do with her Saturday Gold Lotto windfall.
“I’m going to go to Antarctica! I’ve always dreamed about going to Antarctica but never thought I’d get there.
“I’d like to share my prize with family so a few might also get lucky. I think I’ll also trade my old car in on a new car; nothing extravagant though!”
The winning 18-game marked coupon was purchased from Morningside Central News, Shop 11 in Morningside Central Shopping Centre, 25 Junction Road in Morningside.
Throughout Australia, there were six entries that won a first division share of Saturday Gold Lotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on 22 February 2014, each worth $706,653.05. Along with the winning entry from Queensland, another four winning entries were purchased in Victoria, and one in Western Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3401 on 22 February 2014 were 45, 25, 12, 8, 26 and 15 with the supplementary numbers of 23 and 28.
