Impressive in week one of the revamped pre-season competition, Hawthorn has added some real class to its squad for the clash with North Melbourne at Aurora Stadium. Rested in the opening NAB Challenge round, skipper Luke Hodge will have his first hit-out for the season and will be joined by premiership stars Brad Sewell and Josh Gibson. Paul Puopolo, Taylor Duryea and newcomer Billy Hartung, who played against the Lions last week, have been given the night off.

Beginning life without star full-forward Lance Franklin, the premiers thumped an under-strength Brisbane by 131-points in their first outing of 2014. Jarryd Roughead, Jack Gunston and David Hale might be ‘Buddyless’, but they are still potent up front, kicking 10 goals between them last Friday night. Half-back Grant Birchall hasn’t been named for round two and he’ll be joined in the stands by Ben Stratton and impressive draftee Dayle Garlett.

After going down to Carlton by seven points in week one of the NAB Challenge, North Melbourne has named exciting ruckman Majak Daw in its extended squad, with former St Kilda midfielder Nick Dal Santo also included. Liam Anthony, Leigh Adams, Nathan Grima, Michael Firrito and Robbie Tarrant have all been left out.
