$5 million winning Powerball ticket sold in Riverina Region!

Friday 14 February, 2014 - Cupid has taken aim and shot a Powerball arrow at the New South Wales Riverina town of Jerilderie. 

A winner who purchased their entry in Jerilderie will have five million reasons to celebrate this Valentine’s Day after winning first division and other divisional prizes worth $5,238,925.00 in last night’s Powerball draw! 

The winner, who wishes to remain completely anonymous, came forward this morning to claim their multi-million dollar Powerball prize! 

NSW Lotteries spokesperson Belinda McDougall said imagine the Valentine’s Day this winner will have today now that they’re a multi-millionaire. 

“Love will no doubt be in the air and with $5 million this winner could buy around 50,000 dozen red roses and some chocolate treats for their Valentine!” 

The winning PowerHit40 entry at Jerilderie Newsagency, 28 Jerilderie Street in Jerilderie. 

By playing a PowerHit entry, the winner was guaranteed the winning Powerball number and they won an additional $238,925.00 in divisional prizes. 

Powerball’s total division one prize pool of $10 million was split between two entries in Victoria and New South Wales. Along with the entry purchased in Jerilderie, a 10-member syndicate from the Melbourne suburb of North Essendon won $510,000.00 each. 

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 926 on Thursday 13 February 2014 were 34, 11, 24, 6, 8 and 13 and the Powerball was number 7.
