Monday 10 February, 2014 - Two division one TattsLotto prizes of $1 million were won in Melbourne on the weekend, with one going to a couple and the other being shared by a syndicate of Tatts customers.
Syndicate splits TattsLotto loot
For the eighth time in three years, a Tatts outlet in Melbourne has sold shares in a division one winning lotto entry to customers.
This time, Werribee Plaza Lotto Kiosk set up a syndicate with seven other Melbourne Tatts outlets which sold 40 shares in a TattsLotto entry that won a division one prize of $1,070,610.80. Each of the 40 shareholders will claim a $26,765.27 prize from Saturday’s TattsLotto draw.
Werribee Plaza Lotto Kiosk owner Kevin Ung said this syndicate was popular as it coincided with a special event for customers.
“We set up the syndicate as a promotion for Chinese New Year and it has won more than $1 million. We did the same thing this time last year, and the syndicate won a prize of $4 million then as well!” Mr Ung said.
“Sales were a bit slower last week because it’s so hot but everyone who came in to buy a ticket in this syndicate is very happy they went out in the heat!
“One of the winners told me he’s going to buy a plane ticket straight away and go travelling, and others have said they’ll put the prize money towards their mortgage.
“We’ve sold eight division one prizes in three years. We feel very lucky. We’re hoping one of our customers wins in TattsLotto’s $20 Million Superdraw this weekend!”
Shares in the winning syndicate were purchased from eight Tatts outlets including Boronia Junction Lotto in Boronia, Box Hill Central Lotto in Box Hill, Clarinda Lotto in Clarinda, Coburg Hub Lotto in Coburg, Doncaster Lotto in Doncaster, Golden Glass Lotto in Glenroy, Thomastown News & Lotto in Thomastown, and Werribee Plaza Lotto Kiosk in Werribee.
The winning System 11 marked TattsLotto entry allowed the syndicate to win a first division prize of $1,027,919.00 along with multiple divisional prizes, amounting to a total prize of $1,070,610.80.
Melbourne couple become millionaires
A married couple in Lower Templestowe have claimed a first division TattsLotto prize of $1,027,919.00! The pair is thrilled with their newly minted membership to the TattsLotto Millionaires Club.
“It’s going to take a while to sink in!” the winning husband said.
“We’ll be able to buy our perfect house now and start a family. We’re also going to plan a holiday overseas to celebrate.”
The winning TattsLotto 24-game QuickPick entry was purchased from Macedon News & Lotto, 25 Macedon Road in Lower Templestowe, Melbourne.
Throughout Australia, there were four entries that won a first division share of TattsLotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool in draw 3397, each worth $1,027,919.00. Along with the two winning entries in Victoria, two winning entries were purchased in Western Australia.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3397 on 8 February 2014 were 21, 22, 17, 6, 15 and 42 with the supplementary numbers of 18 and 30.
