Tuesday 3 September, 2013 - A couple from the Shepparton area have come forward to Tatts to claim the first division TattsLotto prize of $715,471.82 won in Mooroopna in Saturday night’s draw!
The couple, in their 50s, claimed not only a division one prize, but a number of lower divisional prizes, amounting to a total of $797,805.32 thanks to their System 10 entry type.
The winning husband spoke to a Tatts official today about the moment his life was changed by TattsLotto.
“When I found out I’d won division one I was speechless. I didn’t get a wink of sleep last night!” the winner laughed.
When asked what he plans to do with his TattsLotto windfall, the winning man was very candid.
“I’m going to take it easy for the rest of my life!” he laughed.
“My wife and I were up all night thinking about how we’ll spend the prize money. We’ll pay off the mortgage first, then go travelling.
“We’re going to buy a good caravan and go 4WDing around Australia – we’ll live the Australian dream. We might go for a trip overseas next year too.
“I’m planning to retire early from work now so we’ll invest some of the money for the future.”
The winning marked System 10 TattsLotto entry was purchased from Mooroopna Newsagency, 84 McLennan Street in Mooroopna. The winning couple has chosen to remain anonymous.
Throughout Australia, there were six entries that won a first division share of Saturday TattsLotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool, worth $715,471.82. Along with the winning ticket purchased in Victoria, one winning entry was sold in Tasmania, one in Queensland, and three were purchased in Western Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday TattsLotto draw 3351 on 31 August 2013 were 39, 18, 15, 41, 28 and 26 with the supplementary numbers of 11 and 42.
