Thursday 26 September, 2013 - The search for the missing millionaire who won a share in division one in Saturday Lotto’s $21 million Superdraw is over after a Wollongong woman came forward and claimed the prize!
The surprised winner, who has asked to remain anonymous, admitted she’d been sick in bed and was unaware NSW Lotteries had been searching for a missing winner.
“Someone told me that there was a Saturday Lotto first division winner from Wollongong and people were being asked to check their tickets,” the excited winner explained.
“So I checked my numbers online and I was looking at my ticket saying, ‘That’s one number, two, three, four, five, six!’
“Amazingly I was calm. I think it’s because I didn’t believe it. Actually I still don’t believe it. I’m not going to believe it until the money is in the bank. It’s business as usual at the moment.”
The shocked winner said it’s too early to say what she’ll do with her windfall but it means she has financial independence.
NSW Lotteries players are encouraged to register their entries to a NSW Lotteries Players Club card because not only does it ensure their prize is secure, but it also means they can be contacted directly with the news of a division one win.
The winning entry was purchased at Wollongong City Newsagency, Shop 106, 200 Crown Street in Wollongong.
Throughout Australia, there were 13 entries that won a first division share in Saturday Lotto’s $21 Million Superdraw, each worth $1,615,384.62. Along with the three winning entries from New South Wales, there were four winning tickets sold in Queensland, another five in Victoria, and one in Western Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3357 on 21 September 2013 were 5, 2, 1, 42, 19 and 16 with the supplementary numbers 10 and 37.
