Sebastian Vettel  can go a long way to securing his fourth consecutive championship crown by winning the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday night. The Red Bull Racing-Renault driver has won six of the twelve races this season, including four of the past six, and will be confident of claiming another success given his liking for the Marina Bay Circuit. The Singapore Grand Prix is the only race on the Formula One calendar that takes place at night and Vettel has taken a particular liking to the late start, winning the event in each of the past two years.

Fernando Alonso  (2008, 2010) and Lewis Hamilton  (2009) are the only other drivers to have tasted success on the street circuit and Hamilton in particular will be determined to stand atop the podium here again following the dramas he encountered in 2012. Twelve months ago he was forced to retire with a gearbox problem on lap 23 when leading the race in his McLaren. Now with Mercedes, the Briton and teammate Nico Rosberg’s  cars could be well suited to the course.

Kimi Raikkonen  will join Alonso at Ferrari next year and will want to get his season back on track after finishing out of the points in Belgium and Italy recently, while Mark Webber  is still searching for his first win of the year despite finishing on the podium  on four occasions.
