Monday 16 September, 2013 - A young family from Brisbane’s northside has won a division one prize of more than $472,000 in Saturday Gold Lotto!
The winning father, who wishes to remain anonymous, was still struggling to comprehend the win when he spoke with a Golden Casket official today.
“This is a game-changer,” the winning man said.
“It will really take the pressure off. I’m not going to give up working but this prize money means I won’t have to work so much and can spend more time with the kids.”
The man said he and his wife won’t do anything too brash with the prize money.
“I don’t want to be ‘that guy’ who flaunts the fact he’s won lotto, so we won’t do anything ostentatious,” he said.
“First and foremost we’ll pay off the mortgage and other debts.
“It’s coming up to summer though so I think we’ll put a pool in the backyard now!”
The winning 12-game QuickPick entry in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw was purchased at Stafford City Newsagency, Shop 78 in the Stafford City Shopping Centre, 400 Stafford Road, Stafford.
Throughout Australia, there were nine entries that won a first division share of Saturday Gold Lotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool, worth $472,444.65. Along with the winning ticket purchased in Stafford, a further three winning entries were sold in Queensland, three were purchased in New South Wales, and one each in Victoria and Western Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3355 on 14 September 2013 were 20, 28, 34, 11, 40 and 3 with the supplementary numbers of 25 and 39.
