Liverpool tops the Premier League after collecting full points from its first three fixtures, but never before have the Reds starting an EPL season with four straight wins. Brendan Rogers’ team has a golden opportunity to do so on Tuesday morning (AEST) when it travels to Wales to take on his former side, Swansea City .

Liverpool’s win tally includes a victory over reigning titleholder Manchester United, but all three triumphs have come with a 1-0 scoreline, with Daniel Sturridge the only player to get on the scoresheet. A thigh problem kept him out of England’s matches over the international break, but he should be fit to take on the Swans. An ankle injury is likely to keep defender Glen Johnson out for 2-3 months.

Swansea finally got on the board after a couple of tough opening losses to United and Spurs by beating West Bromwich Albion away from home 2-0 . Jonjo Shelvey is likely to line up after recovering from a knock which kept him out of England’s Under 21 squad, although Nathan Dyer could miss the match with a hamstring problem. Despite a slow start, the partnership between Spanish star Michu and new signing, Ivory Coast international Wilfried Bony.

Liverpool is yet to score at Liberty Stadium since Swansea entered the top flight back in 2011. The home side collected the spoils with a 1-0 victory that season and there was a scoreless draw at the ground last campaign. Liverpool won the clash at Anfield 5-0 in February.
