The Sharks  will be looking to continue their march towards a top four spot when they host the Knights  at Remondis Stadium on Saturday night. Cronulla has climbed to sixth on the ladder with four victories from its past five matches and still holds faint hopes of finishing the regular season in the top four to earn a valuable second chance in the finals. Paul Gallen returned from injury in his side’s 18-14 victory in New Zealand and has been named as part of an unchanged squad for this fixture, but there have been whispers Luke Lewis could be a late inclusion.

Newcastle has collected just one competition point from its past two matches to drop to eighth on the ladder and is in danger of finishing the round out of a finals spot altogether if they lose following last week’s 18-18 draw against the Broncos. They have been boosted by the return from injury of winger James McManus and Kade Snowden is available against after serving two weeks on the sidelines through suspension, but Beau Scott has been ruled out with a foot injury.

1st Tryscorer

If there is one weakness in the Sharks squad it is their lack of strike power in the backline, but they may have unearthed a new star in winger Sosaia Feki . The 22 year-old has played the past dozen matches for the club and has shown improvement with each appearance. He has three tries from his past four outings

Darius Boyd  has failed to play consistently well for Newcastle since joining the club at the start of last season but is arguably playing better now than he ever has for the Knights. He has scored two tries and is averaging 157m per match since returning from Origin duty three weeks ago.

Prediction

Cronulla scored a strong victory over the Warriors last weekend and appear to be hitting form at the right time of the season. They snapped a five match losing streak against the Knights with a golden point success in Newcastle earlier this year and should be too good again at home, where they have won seven of nine matches in 2013.
