Melbourne winner discovers it pays to answer the phone!

Monday 19 August, 2013 - A Melbourne man from the western suburbs spent two weeks oblivious to the fact that he’d won more than $800,000 in Saturday TattsLotto!

Tatts had been trying to contact the man to share the news that he’d won division one and other divisional prizes worth $839,278.40 in TattsLotto.

Two weeks after Saturday TattsLotto draw 3343, Tatts was finally able to reach the stunned winner and inform him that he was more than $830,000 richer.

“Are you serious? I can’t believe what you’re telling me! Oh my god. I’m shaking at the moment,” the shocked winner exclaimed.

“I saw the calls on my phone but I didn’t recognise who was phoning me so I didn’t answer.”

The ecstatic winner said he was too shocked to even think about what he might do with his windfall.

“I definitely think I’ll be answering more call from numbers I don’t recognise from now on,” the winner joked.

The winning Saturday TattsLotto entry was purchased from Sunshine Plaza News and Lotto, Shop T37 in Sunshine Plaza, Hampshire Road in Sunshine.

Throughout Australia, there were five entries that won a first division share of Saturday TattsLotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool, worth $839,258.75. Along with the winning ticket purchased in Sunshine, a winning entry was sold in New South Wales and Queensland, and two were purchased in Western Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday TattsLotto draw 3343 on 3 August 2013 were 37, 24, 30, 26, 1 and 14 with the supplementary numbers of 20 and 10.
