Ins and outs

Carlton has suffered a big blow with Chris Judd ruled out due to a knee problem. Jeff Garlett (glute) and Matthew Watson (foot) will also be missing. Hard nut Mitch Robinson and promising big man Levi Casboult are amongst the inclusions.

Former Richmond skipper Chris Newman will miss the game due to an ankle injury, while inconsistent forward Robin Nahas returns to the VFL this weekend. Former Melbourne forward Ricky Petterd gets another chance, as does versatile defender Dylan Grimes.

Prediction

Richmond ended up a run of outs against Carlton in round one this season, but only just. The Tigers did their best to blow a massive lead before eventually holding on by five points at the MCG. Carlton has been poor in its last couple of outings against Fremantle and the upstart Western Bulldogs, and their form is in stark contrast to the Tigers who blew away front-runner Hawthorn and should have done the same against Brisbane, if not for a terrible second half. Life without Chris Judd isn’t too far away for Carlton and they’ll have to learn how to win without him this weekend, which is unlikely to happen. Richmond by 33 points .
