Controversial galloper Howmuchdoyouloveme  will try to become just the second horse since 1987 to win the Ramornie Handicap twice when he lines up in the $150,000 event at Grafton on Wednesday. Since being moved to the stable of Tina Cotsiopoulos after former handler Con Karakatsanis was handed a nine month disqualification for an incident during last year’s Spring Carnival, Howmuchdoyouloveme is unbeaten, winning the Lightning Handicap and Healy Stakes at Eagle Farm. The son of Written Tycoon won this event by 4 lengths twelve months ago with just 54kg on his back but has been burdened with 60.5kg for this year’s renewal.

River Lad  was just a neck behind Howmuchdoyouloveme in the Healy Stakes last time out but meets Brenton Avdulla’s mount better off at the weights and has to be given a chance of turning the tables, while first up specialist Adebisi  is another leading contender here. Although 1200m is as far as he wants, Desleigh Forster’s charge has won four from seven first up and has been set for this race. Big Bonanza  scored a big win over this trip at Rosehill earlier this month and can give trainer Don Robb the biggest win over his career if successful, while the powerful Darley team rely on Soledad .
