Geelong mum claims her $2.5 million TattsLotto prize!

Friday 5 July, 2013 - The search is over for one of Victoria’s newest multi-millionaires after a Geelong mum came forward to claim her $2.5 million prize from TattsLotto’s $30 Million Mid-Year Megadraw!

The woman in her 50s was prompted to check her unregistered ticket today after hearing that there was a mystery winner in Geelong.

“My son said he’d heard on the news that someone bought a winning TattsLotto ticket from Newcomb Central Lotto and he said to me, ‘Isn’t that where you buy your tickets mum?’” she explained.

“I don’t normally check my TattsLotto tickets til the next weekend so when he said that I thought maybe I was the person they’d been looking for!”

The winning woman said it will take a long time to get used to her newfound multi-millionaire status but she won’t be spending the money lavishly.

“I never thought I’d be calling myself a millionaire, not in my lifetime,” she said.

“This prize money means my husband and I can take care of those things we’ve always worried about. It’s a relief to know we can take care of our children’s futures especially.”

The woman purchased her winning 24-game QuickPick TattsLotto entry from Newcomb Central Lotto, Shop 10 in Newcomb Central, 59 Bellarine Highway in Newcomb.

Throughout Australia, there were 12 entries that won a first division share of TattsLotto’s $30 Million Mid-Year Megadraw division one prize pool on 29 June 2013, each worth $2,500,000.00. Along with three winning entries sold in Victoria, there were four in New South Wales, two each in Queensland and Western Australia and one in South Australia.
