Jack Wighton and Dane Tilse have been named to play for the Raiders  against North Queensland  on Sunday afternoon, despite picking up injuries in their sides 32-2 defeat to the table-topping Rabbitohs in round 16. Sandor Earl has already been ruled out after dislocating his elbow against the Bunnies, with Jarrad Kennedy, Shaun Berrigan, Jake Foster and Dimitri Pelo all added to the squad that travelled to Sydney last Friday night on an extended bench.

The Cowboys will be without Ashton Sims against Canberra, with the forward copping a two game ban after pleading guilty to a grade two dangerous contact charge stemming from his sides 24-4 victory over the Sharks in Townsville on Sunday night. Ricky Thorby and Jason Taumalolo have been added to the squad as Neil Henry’s men bid for a third straight win for the first time this season.

1st Tryscorer

When Josh Dugan was released by Canberra earlier this season many suggested that the Raiders would struggle but Reece Robinson  has been a more than capable replacement in the number one jersey. He has put in week after week and you would image that he will add to the five tries he has already scored this season.

Antonio Winterstein  is having his most consistent season to date for the Cowboys, having scored in nine of the 14 NRL matches that he has played during the current campaign. His combination down the right hand side with Kane Linnett has caused all sorts of problems in recent weeks and he will look to continue his fine form in the nation’s capital.

Prediction

The Cowboys representative stars have raised the bar in the past month and the club is now just one win outside the top eight after back-to-back wins. Although the Raiders haven’t impressed in their past two outings, they are a totally different side at Canberra Stadium and will be bidding for their 11th straight win in the nation’s capital on Sunday, although they are on a five match losing streak against North Queensland.
