$2.5 million TattsLotto winner sets sail towards his dreams

Thursday 4 July, 2013 - A Melbourne dad will ditch his day-job building houses to pursue his dream job restoring boats following a $2.5 million TattsLotto win! 

The man in his 40s from Lyndhurst is the mystery Melbourne winner Tatts has been looking for following TattsLotto’s $30 Million Mid-Year Megadraw on the weekend. 

When he spoke to a Tatts official today to claim his division one prize the winner said he hadn’t been able to sleep since discovering the news. 

“I didn’t check my TattsLotto ticket until Tuesday night and I haven’t been able to sleep since!” the winner exclaimed. 

“It’s hard to believe. The boys at work all talk about the dream of winning TattsLotto so when I found out I won I had to send them a photo of the ticket – they didn’t reckon it was real.” 

The winner said one of the things he’s most excited about following his TattsLotto win is having the freedom to pursue his long-held dreams. 

“My hobby has always been restoring boats – it’s what I love to do in life. With this prize money, I can make that my full-time work and not worry about money pressures. 

“The way I feel about winning TattsLotto is that everything happens for a reason. You can’t rely on winning lotto to change your life though, you’ve got to work hard and be positive; you never give up striving.” 

The man said the multi-million dollar windfall will change his young family’s life. 

“The wife still doesn’t believe it’s us [the winners] and the kids are so excited they didn’t want to go to school!” he said. 

“We’re going to buy our own home now and get a new car. I’ll be speaking to my accountant about how I can invest some of the money for the future too.” 

The man purchased his winning 36-game QuickPick TattsLotto entry from Spring Hill News in Spring Hill Shopping Centre, 1390 Thompson Road in Cranbourne. 

Another $2.5 million prize won with an entry purchased in Geelong from Newcomb Central Lotto, Shop 10 in Newcomb Central, 59 Bellarine Highway in Newcomb is still unclaimed. 

Throughout Australia, there were 12 entries that won a first division share of TattsLotto’s $30 Million Mid-Year Megadraw division one prize pool on 29 June 2013, each worth $2,500,000.00. Along with three winning entries sold in Victoria, there were four in New South Wales, two each in Queensland and Western Australia and one in South Australia. 

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3333 on Saturday 29 June, 2013 were 31, 25, 22, 42, 26 and 11 with the supplementary numbers 8 and 1.
