Wednesday 3 July, 2013 - A woman from the North Curl Curl area was dumbfounded this morning when she discovered she’s now a multi-millionaire after her entry in last night’s $50 million Oz Lotto jackpot draw won $25 million!
The stunned winner said she was prompted to check her Oz Lotto ticket after hearing that a winning entry had been sold in the area.
“I was watching television this morning and I heard them say that one of the winning tickets was from North Curl Curl,” the overwhelmed winner explained.
“I got the numbers off the internet and checked my ticket. I just couldn’t believe it when I realised it was me!
“I didn’t know what to do. I rang my husband to tell him but I was so excited he couldn’t understand what I was saying!”
The winner, who has requested to remain anonymous, said it’s too early to say what she’ll do now that she’s a multi-millionaire.
“I know when we travel, it’ll be in first class. I’d also like to donate some money to my favourite charities,” the winner added.
The winning 6-game marked entry was purchased from North Curl Curl Newsagency, Shop 5, 142 Pitt Road in North Curl Curl.
There were two entries that won a division one share worth $25 million in last night’s $50 million Oz Lotto jackpot draw.
Apart from the winning entry sold in North Curl Curl, an unregistered winning ticket was sold at Norton Plaza Newsagency, Shop 24 in Norton Plaza, Norton Street in Leichhardt.
The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1011 on 2 July 2013 were 45, 13, 38, 42, 31, 20 and 15. The supplementaries were 35 and 18.
There is still another chance for players to win big this week with $10 million up for grabs in Thursday’s Powerball draw.
