Friday 26 July, 2013 - A Sydney man from the Southern suburbs couldn’t stop laughing after scratching the $50,000 top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its $2 ticket.
The man in his 20s admitted to a NSW Lotteries official that he’s not a regular player and only purchased the Instant Scratch-Its ticket on the spur-of-the-moment.
“I was in the car with my fiancé and we were listening to a caller on the radio talk about winning on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket,” the winner explained.
“When we got out of the car, we decided to buy ourselves an Instant Scratch-Its $2 ticket.
“We were still in the outlet when my fiancé scratched the ticket and said to me, ‘I think we’ve just won $50,000’. I didn’t believe her until we checked the ticket again.”
The ecstatic winner said they hid the winning Instant Scratch-Its $2 ticket in a teapot until they could claim their top prize.
“We still haven’t decided what we’ll do with the money but it will more than likely go towards buying a house!” the winner added.
The winning Instant Scratch-Its $2 ticket was purchased at The Mall Newsagency, Shop 32 on the Upper Level in Campbelltown Mall, Queen Street, Campbelltown.
