Saturday Racing Preview July 27

Bletchingly Stakes (MR6) – Second Effort is one of the best mudlarks in the country and is likely to get conditions to suit in this event, with the track rated a slow 6 going into the weekend. He ran well to finish 3rd in the John Monash Stakes last time out behind Pago Rock and steps up to his preferred trip here, having won 7 of his 14 starts over 1200m. It’s impossible to knock Pago Rock after his strong win here earlier this month and he will again be tough to hold out although he is drawn worse than last time having come up with barrier nine as opposed to the one alley. Launay always goes well fresh and will get a good run from barrier three, while Elite Elle has missed a place just once in her past seven starts and will be in the mix.
Selections: Second Effort, Launay, Pago Rock, Elite Elle

3YO Handicap (BR8) **TattsBet $25,000 First4 Jackpot** - Avaladyluck has been in top form this preparation, winning a similar race to this on her reappearance before placing at her next two starts in decent races. She finished just over a length behind Discreet in second two starts back but meets that filly 1.5kg better off this time around. She should get a good run from barrier three and regains the services of Adrian Coome, who has won two from three on her. Discreet was given too much to do last time out when having to jump from the widest gate but should get every chance from a midfield draw. If she reproduces the form that saw her finish 5th in the Dane Ripper Stakes, she will go close. Stablemate Regular ran well to finish 2nd first up from a spell here two weeks ago and warrants respect, while La Frisson Belle and Caliente are much better than they showed last time out.
Selections: Avaladyluck, Discreet, Regular, La Frisson Belle
