Monday 22 July, 2013 - Wouldn’t It Be Nice to win TattsLotto…twice?
Forgetfulness paid dividends for one Melbourne woman who accidentally purchased two entries into the same TattsLotto draw and ended up winning two division one prizes on Saturday!
Each entry netted the woman in her 30s a division one prize worth $413,810.74, plus other divisional prizes, for a cumulative total of $835,149.68.
Tatts contacted the winner this morning who took a moment away from her job in the CBD to explain how she ended up winning a once in a lifetime TattsLotto prize twice in a weekend.
“This isn’t a hoax is it? Hang on, I’ll have to take my coat off, it’s really hot all of a sudden!” the winner laughed.
“I buy a TattsLotto ticket every week, and I just forgot that I’d already bought one for the weekend when I went to another shop to buy the second one.
“I always play the same numbers made up of family birthdays.
“Half of that $835,000 will go straight towards the mortgage… I guess it’s a good thing we won twice so there’s some prize money left over! It will be such a relief to be debt-free.
“I’ll have to go and ring hubby now to break the news!” the winner added excitedly.
The woman purchased both of her winning System 7 marked TattsLotto entries from Melbourne Central Shopping Centre. One was from Transit Newsagency, Shop 149 and the other was from Central Station News & Lotto, Shop LG 07A in Melbourne Central on the corner of Swanston Street and La Trobe Street.
There were a total of six winning TattsLotto entries purchased in Victoria in the weekend’s draw. The four other winning entries were sold from East Doncaster Lotto in East Doncaster, Warringal Lotto in Heidelberg, Glenroy Newsagency in Glenroy and Winning Lotteries St Albans in St Albans.
The winning entry purchased from Winning Lotteries St Albans in St Albans was not registered to a Tatts Card. Tatts encourages all players who purchased TattsLotto entries in St Albans to check their tickets because they might be the mystery division one winner Tatts is looking for!
Throughout Australia, there were 10 entries that won a first division share of TattsLotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on 20 July 2013, each worth $413,810.74. Along with six winning entries sold in Victoria, there was one each in New South Wales, South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3339 on Saturday 20 July, 2013 were 12, 9, 1, 3, 22 and 29 with the supplementary numbers 37 and 18.
Players have more chances to win big this week with tomorrow night’s $10 million Oz Lotto draw!
