Wednesday Lotto winner 'dumbfounded' by $1 million prize!

Thursday 11 July, 2013 - A Melbourne woman went numb when she discovered she’d won a first division prize of $1 million in Wednesday Lotto!

The winner from Melbourne’s south-east said she checked her ticket last night after watching the draw on television.

“I wrote down the numbers and started to cross them off my ticket,” the excited winner explained.

“When I finished, I just went numb! I’d say I checked that ticket about 800 times. I thought I was going to rub off the numbers.

“I walked in to the kitchen and said to my husband, ‘I’ve just won Lotto’. We were dumbfounded!”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said she’ll pay off the mortgage with the windfall.

The winning 18-game QuickPick was purchased from Carrum Downs Lotto, Shop 28 in Carrum Downs Shopping Centre, 100 Hall Road, Carrum Downs.

This is the fourth division one lotto winning entry Carrum Downs Lotto has sold in less than 12-months, with a combined total of more than $3 million.

The Tatts outlet sold a first division syndicate share in November’s $100 million Oz Lotto draw worth $349,912.97, a TattsLotto division one winning entry less than two weeks later worth $324,696.90, and went on to sell a $1.3 million winning TattsLotto entry in December.

Owner Simon Boctor was thrilled they’d sold yet another division one winning entry.

“We’ve done it again. I only said the other day that we must be due for another first division win and here you go!” Mr Boctor said.

There were two winning entry in last night’s Wednesday Lotto draw, each picking up $1 million. Apart from the winning ticket sold in Victoria, the other was sold online via Tatts.com.

The winning numbers in Wednesday Lotto draw 3259 on 10 July 2013 were 28, 29, 36, 45, 27 and 8 with the supplementary numbers 21 and 39.
