Sunshine Coast Racing Preview June 29

Glasshouse Handicap (BR7) **TattsBet $100,000 First Four Jackpot** - River Lad has been racing tremendously well this campaign and can score another well deserved win here. He ran classy galloper Howmuchdoyouloveme to a neck last week and a repeat of that performance would see him go very close. Another horse in good form going into this is Someday. Kelso Wood’s four year-old backs up after finishing third in a strange race at Eagle Farm a week ago and has been aimed at this event since the start of his preparation. Barrier 16 isn’t ideal but is an obstacle that can be overcome on this big track. Stablemate Belltone disappointed in the Stradbroke last time out but would be hard to beat if he can show his best form, while Phelan Ready and Meet George are capable of running into a place.
Selections: River Lad, Belltone, Someday, Meet George

Caloundra Cup (BR8) **TattsBet $100,000 First Four Jackpot** - High Kin was the run of the race in the Ipswich Cup a fortnight ago and can collect the biggest prize of her career by taking out this event. Although untried over this trip, the way that she finished off last time would suggest she will relish the step up to 2400m. 2012 winner Shenzhou Steeds returned to form by finishing second in the Tatt’s Cup at Eagle Farm last week and will look to build on his impressive records on wet going and at this course. Fellow Kiwi Zennista is drawn to run well in gate two and was beaten just over a length in the Group Two Brisbane Cup last time out. A repeat of that performance would see her go close. Voila Ici gets conditions to suit and will be hard to run down from the front, while Rothera is another sure to be in the finish.
Selections: High Kin, Shenzhou Steeds, Zennista, Voila Ici
