Monday 17 June, 2013 - A family syndicate has taken out a first division prize worth more than $500,000 after their ticket won a share in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw!
The family members from the Ashbury area had a hard time believing that their entry had won $575,256.48.
“When I checked our numbers after the draw on the internet I said, ‘Is this for real?’” one of the excited winners explained.
“I really didn’t think I was seeing the right numbers! So then I got my husband to check the ticket for me.
“After that I called the other family members in the syndicate to tell them the amazing news. They also couldn’t believe we’d won lotto. So once again we checked our numbers on the ticket!”
The Grandmother said she and her husband will give some of their share of the winnings to family and will also think about taking a holiday.
“I think it’s nice to share our good fortune with our family,” the winner added.
The unregistered 18-game entry was purchased from Chris’s Newsagency, Shop 2 at 68 Evaline Street in Campsie.
Owners Van and Ivy Do said they’re thrilled that they’ve sold another division one winning ticket.
“This is actually the third time we’ve sold a first division entry in the last two years!” Mrs Do said.
“It’s wonderful to know that another one of our customers is celebrating a big lotto win.”
Throughout Australia, there were seven entries that won a first division share of Saturday Lotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool, each worth $575,256.48. Along with the winning entry from Campsie, four winning entries were purchased in Victoria, and one each in South Australia and Northern Territory.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3329, on 15 June 2013 were 16, 4, 1, 17, 21 and 15 with the supplementary numbers 42 and 40.
