Australian veteran Lleyton Hewitt  will be looking to advance to the quarter-finals at Queens for the tenth time when he faces American Sam Querrey  in the 3rd round on Thursday night (AEST). The former Wimbledon champion has won this event on four previous occasions and has relished returning to his favourite surface. Prior to his first round victory over Michael Russell, Hewitt had lost four successive matches and hadn’t recorded a win since beating Joao Sousa at the Miami Masters in March. He recorded something of a shock by breezing past 10th seed Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets  on Wednesday and will be full of confidence going into this match.

The former world number one has a 2-1 career advantage over Querrey but the hard hitting world number 19 won the most recent match between the pair in San Jose earlier this year. He took the first set 7-6, before eventually securing victory in three . After getting a first round bye as the sixth seed, the American was pushed to the limit against unheralded Slovenian Aljaz Bedene before finally triumphing in a third set tiebreak.
