Wednesday 12 June, 2013 - A Melbourne man from the Eastern suburbs went out to grab a bite to eat for lunch and returned to work more than $500,000 richer!
The man in his 60s was unaware he’d won division one and other division prizes totalling $563,847.15 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw until he checked his ticket during his lunch break.
“I mightn’t have discovered I was a winner until Friday because that’s the day I always check my TattsLotto tickets,” the shocked winner explained.
“However, when I went to grab some lunch today I decided to check my entry for some reason!
“This is beautiful. I’m still shaking. I just can’t believe it!”
The winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, said the first thing he plans to do with the money is pay off the mortgage.
The unregistered winning TattsLotto entry was purchased from Lucky Strike Lotto at Ritchies Supermarket, 141 – 145 Lonsdale Street in Dandenong.
TattsLotto players are encouraged to always register their lottery purchases to their Tatts Card. Not only does registration ensure your prize is secure, but it also means you can be contacted directly with news of a big win.
Throughout Australia, there were eight entries that won a first division share of TattsLotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on 8 June 2013, each worth $509,947.35. Along with three winning entries sold in Victoria, there were two winning entries purchased in New South Wales and one each in Tasmania, Queensland and Western Australia.
