Tuesday 11 June, 2013 - A Mount Morgan man still can’t quite believe he’s more than $500,000 richer after winning a share in division one in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw!
The man in his 50s won a first division prize of $509,947.35 with a spur-of-the-moment Saturday Gold Lotto QuickPick entry.
“I buy all my lotto entries for the week every Sunday, but when I was in the newsagency on Saturday getting a newspaper, I decided to grab another entry,” the winner explained.
“When I went in the next day to get my usual weekly lotto tickets, I picked up a draw results slip and went home to check my numbers.
“When I discovered the QuickPick entry had won, I just couldn’t believe it. I said to myself, ‘This can’t be right’, so I headed back to the newsagency.
“When I got there the owners had put up a sign saying they’d sold a division one winning entry and that’s when I realised it must be right!”
The excited winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, said he hasn’t thought about what he’ll do with the money yet because it still doesn’t seem real.
The winning 50-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Mount Morgan News, 45 Morgan Street in Mount Morgan.
Throughout Australia, there were eight entries that won a first division share in Saturday Gold Lotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool, each worth $509,947.35.
Along with the winning entry from Mount Morgan, there were three winning entries sold in Victoria, two were purchased in New South Wales, and one each in Tasmania and Western Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3327 on Saturday 8 June, 2013 were 25, 7, 10, 28, 8 and 42 with the supplementary numbers 39 and 35.
There are more chances to win big this week with tonight’s $20 million Oz Lotto draw and another $10 million Powerball jackpot up for grabs on Thursday!
