Sydney woman celebrates surprise Saturday Lotto win!

Wednesday 29 May, 2013 - A Sydney woman from the Northern suburbs is celebrating after discovering her unregistered ticket in the weekend’s Lotto draw was a division one winning entry!

The excited winner was unaware she was $831,755.16 richer until she thought to check her Lotto entry at a NSW Lotteries outlet.

“When they checked my ticket at the store, they said it had won a high prize but couldn’t tell me the amount. I nearly had a heart attack!” the winner explained.

“I told myself to calm down because I may have won a $1,000. Then we checked the ticket on the internet and couldn’t believe that we’d won division one!

“I thought I had to put the ticket somewhere so it went in my jacket pocket for safe-keeping until we could claim the prize.”

The winning mum, who has chosen to remain anonymous, said her family will celebrate by throwing birthday parties for the children.

“Now that we’ve won this money, our priority is our children’s education and we may even go on a holiday!”

The unregistered 24-game QuickPick entry was purchased from Newslink George Street Bookstall, Wynyard Ramp, George Street Entrance, Sydney.

NSW Lotteries encourages people to register their entries to a NSW Lotteries Players Club card because it not only secures their prize but also ensures they can be contacted directly with the big news if they win division one.

Throughout Australia, there were five entries that won a first division share of Saturday Lotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool, each worth $831,755.16. Along with the winning entry from Sydney, another winning entry was purchased in New South Wales, Queensland had a winning syndicate entry, and two winning tickets were sold in Western Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3323, on 25 May 2013 were 15, 36, 16, 1, 20 and 31 with the supplementary numbers 2 and 38.
