The Broncos  will be without two key men for their match against the Titans  at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night, with Scott Prince (hamstring) and Ben Hannant (calf) both picking up injuries in their sides 19-18 defeat to the Eels in round nine. Ben Hunt comes off the bench to start at halfback for Prince, while Hannant is replaced by Josh McGuire in the starting side with Scott Anderson, Jarrod Wallace and Mitchell Dodds all added to a five man interchange bench.

Fullback William Zillman put in his best performance of the season against the Dragons last weekend and will become the seventh player to feature in 100 matches for the Titans when he runs out against Brisbane. Matt Srama has been named to return from a fractured finger for the derby, while Mark Ioane is also in the extended squad after missing out against St George Illawarra on Sunday. A decision on the participation of Srama and Luke Douglas, who lost his mother during the week, will be made closer to the match.

1st Tryscorer

Josh Hoffman  had a purple patch of form earlier this season, when he crossed for six tries in three matches between round four and round six. He had a stellar game against the Gold Coast during that period running for five tackle breaks, two line breaks and bagging a four pointer.

David Mead made a strong reappearance for the Titans against the Dragons last week after recovering from a broken jaw, running for 130m and throwing the final pass for one of William Zillman’s tries. He has already been the first scorer for his team in two of the seven NRL matches he has played in 2013.

Prediction

Although they are coming off back-to-back defeats against the Eels and Rabbitohs, Brisbane will be confident of joining the Gold Coast on 10 competition points with a victory. The Broncos have won seven of the past eight clashes between these sides, including a comprehensive 32-12 victory at Skilled Park just over a month ago. The Titans haven’t beaten the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium since the first meeting between the clubs there in round 5 2007, but the hosts won't take their opponent for granted given they are without several key players.
