Popular local galloper Buffering will bid for an elusive victory at the top level when he lines up against ten rivals in the BTC Cup at Eagle Farm on Saturday. The reigning Queensland Horse of the Year has been in the placings seven times at Group One level and is a five time Group Two winner but is yet to taste success at the top level. He made a pleasing reappearance with a dominant win in the Victory Stakes at Doomben at the end of April and is the leading local hope in the BTC Cup but will tackle a strong field.
Last year’s winner Sea Siren comes into this 1200m event off the back of two leadup runs in Sydney, while Rain Affair is another leading contender after finishing second to champion colt All Too Hard at his last start in the All Aged Stakes. Better Than Ready is one of three runners representing the classic generation in the race and will give a good account of himself having scored a soft win on his reappearance last month.
