Melbourne 'rouseabout' wins $30 million in Oz Lotto!

Wednesday 1 May, 2013 - A Melbourne man in his early 60s won the entire $30 million division one prize pool in Oz Lotto last night!

Tatts contacted the brand-new multi-millionaire this morning to share the news that his numbers brought him truckloads of cash in the draw!

The winning man described himself as a “rouseabout” working in Melbourne and was stunned at the news of his win.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” he said to a Tatts official.

“Truly, I’ve been playing for a very, very, very long time. I thought your call might have been about winning $30,000 and that would have been terrific for my mortgage.

“But $30 million…I’m not sure what I’ll do with it yet. My mortgage will be eliminated…no, obliterated!

“I travel a lot so I’ll be seeing more of the world now. I’m going to buy apartments in all the places I like.”

When asked if he’ll be investing in a chic apartment on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, or a cosy ski chalet in Switzerland, the winner wouldn’t be drawn.

“I won’t say where, but they’ll all have great views!” he laughed.

The hard-working man won’t be giving up his day-job to rest on his laurels just yet.

“I might resign, but not immediately. We’re up against it at the moment so I wouldn’t want to leave them in the lurch at work. I’m at the age where I can start thinking about retirement though.”

The winner is ecstatic about the $30 million prize, and still holds hope for another windfall this week.

“We’ll see about Powerball tomorrow night, won’t we! If I won another $60 million this week I wouldn’t know what to do with myself!”

The man who lives in Melbourne will claim a division one prize worth $30,000,000.00. He won with an 18-game QuickPick entry purchased online from the Tatts.com website. The winner has chosen to remain anonymous.

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1002 on Tuesday 30 April were 12, 39, 27, 44, 26, 6 and 32. Supplementary numbers were 14 and 41. Oz Lotto will offer a $2 million division one prize in next week’s draw.

While the Oz Lotto winner dreams about where his division one prize will take him around the globe, Powerball players are writing their own ‘Powerball Lists’ for how they’d spend a $60 million prize won in tomorrow night’s draw. Grab a Powerball entry from any Tatts outlet or online from Tatts.com for your chance to change it all!
