$2 million Saturday Lotto winners still pinching themselves!

Monday 8 April, 2013 - A family who purchased their Saturday Lotto entry in Blaxland won a first division prize of $2,037,180.74 in Saturday’s draw!

The winning father was still ‘pinching himself’ when he spoke with a NSW Lotteries official this morning.

“There is still an element of disbelief until you get confirmation that you are in fact a winner,” he said.

“We play Lotto regularly but I suppose you never really think you’ll actually win this amount of money!”

The family will take some time to decide how to best use their $2 million windfall.

“We’ll have a think about what to do with this money but we will spend some of it on our house,” he said.

The winning family has chosen to remain anonymous.

The registered 36-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Blaxland Newsagency, 140 Great Western Highway in Blaxland.

Owners Cassandra and Graeme Young are thrilled they’ve sold a winning ticket.

“Isn’t it wonderful news! We’ve owned newsagencies for years and over that time we’ve had a few division one winners but this is the first winning ticket we’ve sold at Blaxland Newsagency,” Mrs Young said.

Throughout Australia, there were two entries that won a first division share of Saturday Lotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on the weekend, each worth $2,037,180.74. Along with the Blaxland entry, the other winning ticket was purchased in Queensland.

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3309 on 6 April 2013 were 21, 43, 19, 23, 25 and 20 with the supplementary numbers of 8 and 2.
