Friday 05 April, 2013 - The hunt continues for the mystery millionaire who won $8,165,000 a fortnight ago with an unregistered ticket in the Lucky Lotteries $2 Jackpot.
NSW Lotteries has been waiting for two weeks for the winner to come forward and claim their multi-million dollar prize.
NSW Lotteries spokesperson Belinda McDougall said because the ticket was not registered to a NSW Lotteries Players Club Card, NSW Lotteries has no way of contacting the $8.1 million winner.
“We are encouraging customers who purchased a Lucky Lotteries $2 Jackpot ticket in Wollongong to check their wallets, purses, handbags, pockets, glove boxes, drawers and even on the fridge door for the winning ticket,” Ms McDougall said.
“It could also be the case that the winning ticket was given as a gift. If anyone has recently received a ticket in Lucky Lotteries $2 Jackpot draw 9805, perhaps inside a birthday or thank you card, they should check it as soon as possible.
“NSW Lotteries always recommends customers register their entries to a NSW Lotteries Players Club Card as it ensures their prize is secure and we can contact them directly with news of a big win.
“Imagine the Easter this winner could have had if they received that winning phone call two weeks ago to tell them that they were $8.1 million richer!
“If you have checked your Lucky Lotteries $2 Jackpot entry and think you may be holding the winning ticket, ensure that you keep it in a safe place and contact NSW Lotteries as soon as possible to begin the prize claim process,” Ms McDougall said.
The winning ticket was purchased from Cringila Village Newsagency, Shop 1, 15 Lake Avenue in Cringila.
The massive $8,165,000 prize was won in Lucky Lotteries $2 Jackpot draw 9805. The jackpot prize in the $2 Lucky Lottery is won when the selected jackpot number has already won a cash prize in the same draw. The winning ticket had won just $10 before being selected for the $8,165,000 jackpot prize.
Meanwhile, the Lucky Lotteries $5 Jackpot game has jackpotted to $12,985,000 with the next draw scheduled for Tuesday 9 April 2013.
