The ACT Brumbies will be looking to prevent Western Force from scoring their third major upset of the season when the sides meet at Canberra Stadium on Saturday night. Despite languishing at the bottom of the Australian conference with just two wins, both of the Force’s victories came against the well fancied Reds and Crusaders.
Coach Jake White has made just one change to the Brumbies side that played out a hard fought 19 all draw with the Reds in Brisbane last weekend, with Scott Sio replacing Dan Palmer at prop. While the impressive form of centres Tevita Kuridrani and Christian Lealiifano means that there still isn’t a spot for Wallaby Pat McCabe in the starting XV.
The Force have made two changes to the side that lost 22-16 to the Hurricanes in Wellington last Friday night, with exciting young centre Kyle Godwin and prop Salesi Ma'afu returning to the team.
In spite of the fact that they are not rated very highly in Australian rugby circles, the Force have a good record against the Brumbies, winning three and drawing one of the nine Super Rugby clashes between the clubs. They fared relatively well in the nation’s capital as well, winning there twice, but the Brumbies won both meetings between the sides in the 2012 Super Rugby season.
