Mystery winner claims huge Lucky Lotteries prize!

Monday 22 April, 2013 - The hunt for the mystery millionaire who won $8,165,000 last month with an unregistered ticket in the Lucky Lotteries $2 Jackpot is over.

The winner, who wishes to remain completely anonymous, has come forward to claim their multi-million dollar prize four weeks after the jackpot draw.

NSW Lotteries spokesperson Belinda McDougall said the ticket was not registered to a NSW Lotteries Players Club Card so NSW Lotteries hadn’t been able to contact the winner.

“Instead of being able to call the winner to tell them they were $8.1 million richer, we had to wait for the winner to contact us,” Ms McDougall said.

“NSW Lotteries always recommends customers register their entries to a NSW Lotteries Players Club Card as it ensures their prize is secure and we can contact them directly with news of a big win.”

The jackpot in the $2 Jackpot Lottery is won when the selected jackpot ticket number has already won a cash prize in the same draw. The Lucky Lotteries $2 Jackpot prize pool had jackpotted since June 2012 to reach $8,165,000!

The winning ticket was purchased from Cringila Village Newsagency, Shop 1, 15 Lake Avenue in Cringila.

Owner Chris Felvus said he’s happy the winner has finally come forward to claim their multi-million dollar prize.

“I’ve had a steady stream of people coming into the newsagency over the last few weeks to check tickets in the hope that they were the mystery $8.1 million winner,” Mr Felvus said.

“I’m really glad the winner has finally come forward though and it’s nice to think that one of my customers literally hit the jackpot!”

Meanwhile, the Lucky Lotteries $5 Jackpot game has jackpotted to $13,455,000 with the next draw scheduled for Tuesday 23 April 2013.
