Monday 22 April, 2013 - A Northern Rivers couple on holidays has picked up the ultimate souvenir – a winning Saturday Lotto ticket!
The couple won a division one prize of $662,891.11 in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw after buying a QuickPick entry while holidaying on the South Coast.
The winning woman spoke with a NSW Lotteries official today and described how it felt to suddenly be more than $600,000 richer.
“It’s absolutely amazing although I still can’t believe it,” she said.
“I was checking my ticket on Sunday and I was saying ‘I’ve got that number, I’ve got that number, and I’ve got that number too’ and before I knew it I had all the numbers circled!” the winner exclaimed.
“It’s come as a complete surprise so we’ll definitely take our time and think about what we’ll do with the money.”
The winning 36-game QuickPick was purchased at Nowra Mall Paper Shop, Shops 5 & 6 in Nowra Mall on the corner of Kinghorn and Junction Streets, Nowra.
Throughout Australia, there were six entries that won a first division share of Saturday Lotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool, each worth $662,891.11.
Along with the winning entry from New South Wales, there were four winning tickets sold in Victoria and another in Queensland.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3313 on 20 April 2013 were 7, 10, 41, 34, 28 and 44 with the supplementary numbers 14 and 8.
