Year of the Snake proves to be lucky for Northmead winner!

Monday 18 March, 2013 - A Northmead local is literally thanking his lucky stars after winning a first division prize of $1,377,646.77 in Saturday Lotto!

The winner said he put his Lotto luck down to following his Chinese horoscope.

“This is the Year of the Snake and I was born in the Year of the Snake so I decided to put in my entry on the first day of the Chinese New Year!” the excited winner explained.

“I also read that blue is my lucky colour this year, so I put my entry in a blue wallet in my wife’s blue handbag.

“My wife said to me at the time ‘why are you giving me your lotto tickets?’ well now she knows,” the winner laughed.

The story doesn’t end there, the new Saturday Lotto Millionaire also revealed that he got the winning numbers off a lucky numbers website!

“We’ve been saving hard to build a house so now we’ll be able to build it earlier!” the excited winner told a NSW Lotteries official.

The winner has chosen to remain anonymous.

The registered 18-game winning entry was purchased at Northmead Newsagency, Shop 8 in Northmead Plaza, 37 Windsor Road in Northmead.

Throughout Australia, there were three entries that won a first division share of Saturday Lotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on the weekend, each worth $1,377,646.77. Along with the New South Wales entry, there was one winning ticket purchased in Victoria and another in Queensland.

There could be more New South Wales Millionaires with $25 million up for grabs in this Saturday Lotto’s Superdraw! Tickets are on sale now from all NSW Lotteries outlets and online at Tatts.com.

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3303 on 16 March 2013 were 29, 32, 24, 25, 4 and 43 with the supplementary numbers 26 and 38.
